2022-2023 Multiples of Illinois State Philanthropic

The Del Valle Family

Mike and Ginger Del Valle are members of DuPage Doubles. They are a wonderful couple who are the first to offer help or support to anyone. They are pillars of strength and love in their community, church, schools, and friendships. They have endured so much in their lives, including surviving Hurricane Katrina in their beloved hometown of New Orleans.

At the end of 2021, they were given the news that Mike chronic kidney disease has reached stage 4 and his kidneys are not functioning well enough to keep him alive. Mike has started receiving dialysis treatments three times a week while beginning to look for a living kidney donor. Since this diagnosis, he was also told he would need a pancreas to fight his diabetes.

In October 2022 Mike was placed on the transplant list. He is AB+ which means that he can receive an organ from any blood type, vastly improving his ability to find matching donors.

Being the main financial provider for his family and being diagnosed with end stage renal disease has been very challenging for his family, who are grappling with the diagnoses and plans to help Mike get back to health, let alone figure out the financial responsibilities of daily life and extended medical care costs. Due to the extent of his illnesses, he can no longer work.

Mike and Ginger have been blessed with three amazing children, Grant and twins Gabriella and Gianna. All of them are on the Autism Spectrum and require various medical and therapeutic treatments, as well.
